This study examines the current systems of wastepaper
collection, recovery and utilisation in Scotland, gaining insights
into the performance of existing systems. The aim is to identify
opportunities to expand and improve current systems, in addition to
examining ways of stimulating market demand for recycled fibre in
both traditional and alternative end-use sectors. The potential to
increase levels
(volumes, quality, and reliability) of wastepaper collection and
the barriers to the increased use of recycled fibres are examined,
along with possible methods for overcoming these barriers.
