Since its origin, Remade Scotland acknowledged that drivers and barriers to achieve increasing recycling levels for each type of material may differ. That is why Remade Scotland historically has been targeting materials individually with research and support into each material's recycling and reprocessing sector. Our holistic methodology focuses on the whole supply chain, with Remade Scotland being involved in projects with all the main stakeholders in the sector including Local Authorities, the Scottish Government, reprocessing and manufacturing companies, community groups and charities.
Specifically areas of assistance have included providing technical expertise in the assessment and evaluation of advanced waste treatment technologies; supporting the implementation of recycling programmes; provision of effective advice on waste arisings and use of waste and environmental data through specialist software and database applications.
In addition, we maintain a regular and fluent communication with WRAP and WAS to ensure that our joint effort to increase recycling levels in Scotland is fully coordinated to achieve the greatest impacts.
